Travel Journal: Ireland- last day in Limerick

 09/07/2023

Today is our last full day in Limerick- we enjoyed the Bunratty Castle - “the most complete and authentic castle in Ireland.”

Bunratty Castle stands on what was started as a Viking trading camp in 970. The present castle is the last of four castles to be built on the site. We have had some pretty good leg workouts from making the climb up all of these castles but the views and history are well worth it. Nestled in the Clare countryside there is endless scenery surrounding Bunratty and it also features a full working history museum village and farm - so we got to see and pet lots more cute critters. We throughly enjoyed Limerick and how slow and quiet it is ☘️
