Travel Journal: On to Limerick - Ireland

We have enjoyed slowing down a little for the last couple of days ☘️ We caught an easy train to our next hotel in the quiet, cute town of Limerick. We have throughly enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere, the prime location to lots of other places to see, King Johns Castle and some awesome pubs with traditional Irish music and dancing. 

Today we hiked and explored along Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way 🌊 You could plan an entire trip just on this part of Ireland alone. We meandered through a few beautiful little farming communities where only Gaelic is spoken and farming traditions go all the way back to medieval times. There’s also sadly many ruins of cottages that were left empty during The Great Famine. 

The big one today was seeing the magnificent Cliffs of Moher - we were especially lucky because we happened to go on an exceptionally clear and sunny day so we could see them super well (often fog can block the views). At other times of the year you can actually spot Puffins from the cliffs !

The Wild Atlantic Way is SO beautiful and so worth visiting if you come to Ireland. Like a lot of the scenery here, pictures hardly do it justice.
